Ward Announces Community Micro-Grants

Small grants to support community initiatives are part of the City of Chicago's new budget, and the city and 12th Ward Alderman George Cardenas are calling for applicants.

"A total of $100,000 will be awarded to support arts and cultural programming, community wellness, and public safety in the 12th Ward," Cardenas said in an announcement. The 12th Ward covers most of the McKinley Park neighborhood.

Applications for the grants are now open and will close on May 20, 2022. More information and the application process is available on an eProcurement Solicitation page on the City of Chicago website, accessible at https://bit.ly/3K5vbEe.

In the City of Chicago system, two grant applications are available: 12th Ward Community Arts and Cultural Micro-Grants and 12th Ward Community Wellness and Public Safety Micro-Grants.

Participating in this is "strongly suggested" for applicants, according to the Chicago eProcurement listings.

Eligible organizations include those registered with the Illinois Secretary of State that want to deliver 12th Ward programs and services that fulfill grant requirements.

"Funding will also be considered for collaborative entities and coalitions," Cardenas said.
